Democrats running for President

hillary2

2heart Hillary Clinton
The former First lady gets a heart; clearly understands HCF. She grew up in the Methodist church, she claims she accepted Jesus Christ as ‘her Savior.’ When pressed to articulate what that meant, she stated that she accepted that Jesus died for her sins and his atoning shed blood for the remission of sin.

obama

2head 2heart Barack Obama
Too much flip flopping-Is Jesus a Democrat because he rode into Jerusalem on a donkey? His United Church of Christ is fazizzle to the max. Senator Obama has been at his best articulating a common thread to the Christian experience, yet it is unclear exactly what his “walking the aisle” meant when he joined the UCC. His quiet demeanor and acceptance of a variety of Christian interpretations of the scripture is sometimes contradictory to traditional Biblical truths.

2head John Edwards
And not because of those great and expensive haircuts; it appears that the adage, 'without faith, it is impossible to please the voters' is true in Edwards case. Poverty tours should all end in Calcutta. Ask Mother Teresa. Senator Edwards states that he was brought up in the Baptist faith but fails to articulate a specific salvation experience.

When he talks of 'being at odds with his Catholic Church" on gay rights and abortion' but 'feels comfortable' about his positions' we can only imagine what he thinks about the rest of HCF. Can you say, ‘cafeteria Catholicism?’

While he told Paula Zahn he says the rosary every day, Senator Biden "may be so election minded that he is no heavenly good."

He is a Roman Catholic and his wife a Mormon raises an interesting mix-but when the Big Roll–and the one that means the most in the next life-is called up yonder, will Dodd know what it is?

2zero Dennis Kucinich

The former mayor of Cleveland abandoned a number of principles of HCF as he ascended into national politics. And when he stated on the Bill Maher show that "faith is not about certainty or beliefs. Instead, faith is something that emerges in the absence of certainty", we have to give Rep. Kucinich a blank.

2mikegravel

2question Mike Gravel
The former senator from Alaska appears to be sitting on the premises instead of standing on the promises of HCF-in his case, his faith may be cold and a little frozen since he purports on his own website to be the standard bearer amongst Democrats for redefining HCF definition of marriage: " I can confidently say, of all presidential candidates, I've been the most outspoken advocate for gay rights."

guilliani

2zero Rudy Guiliani
after the former NYC mayor was nearly struck by lightning at a recent debate, one would think that would have been a clear message.  Swiftboat attacks aside, Guiliani is a sincere man but no one is taking his talk about his faith seriously. This is despite attending a Catholic parochial school, he gives no reference to a spiritual compass. The lights are off and no one is at home in this church.

mccain

2head John McCain
A true patriot and laudable hero, Arizona's senator seems to be as reluctant to talk about his faith as his bloodletting of staffers seem to talk about why they are leaving.  In a recent interview, McCain's expression of faith is about as clear as to the location of the Urim and Thummin. "I think it's something between me and my creator," McCain said in an interview with McClatchy Newspapers."It's primarily a private issue rather than a public one. ... When I'm asked about it, I'll be glad to discuss it. I just don't bring it up." He has the head knowledge and has the experience of intense torture in the Hanoi Hilton, but beyond that, still relates no spiritual experience that is consistent with the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior aka HCF.

mittromney70

2question Mitt Romney

While Mitt may be a front-runner going into the 2008 Convention, the rift between the Mormon religion and HCF is as wide/deep as God parting the Red Sea for the children of Israel.  Mitt, to some evangelicals, is at the top of the food chain and have quoted Martin Luther, "I would rather be ruled by a righteous Turk than an incompetent Christian". Is Mitt ‘The Man?’ Time will tell to those evangelicals who have signed on to the Romney campaign. Hold on to your hats…and glasses.

brownback

 2heart Sam Brownback
Sam's conversion to Roman Catholicism has as many heads scratching as Job did while inflicted with boils.  The HCF crowd for Brownback may be harder to be won back than a strong walled city as Solomon use to say. Senator Brownback has deep support from many of the conservative Catholic political activists, but has failed to articulate his own doctrinal differences with historical Methodist upbringing.

huckabee1

2heart Mike Huckabee
Governor Huckabee, despite a very limited budget, has been warmly received by both conservative and progressive audiences, articulating his poliicies for education reform and preventive health care, particularly obesity as a Christian mandate.

More importantly, he has been the only candidate to articulate a Christian worldview on topics such as homosexuality and creation during the Republican debates, leaving many of the candidates to add " I believe what he said".

2ronpaul

2heart Ron Paul
This congressman from Texas, along with being a physician, clearly understands HCF.  A devotee of the Libertarian crowd, while Paul gets HCF, he has little chance of capturing the nomination but should be given an 'attaboy' for jumping into the fray.

2duncanhunter

2heart Duncan Hunter

Hunter is the real deal when it comes to supporting HCF. A Baptist by affiliation, Hunter understands John 14:6-that Jesus is the only way.  He states he accepted Jesus at a tent revival at age 14 and is now a devout big ‘B’ believer; as well, has a long legislative and personal devotion to HCF and should be applauded.

When 'The Poll' is called up yonder, will they be there?
A Rapid Faith Analysis of the current Presidential candidates with a legend according to the Historic Christian Faith (HCF) or Biblical Christianity

It appears that since both sides of the Presidential candidate aisle are running to the "Faith Counter" quicker than a Hollywood star can get into rehab, it might behoove inquiring minds to analyze what kind of knowledge the candidates have about their faith when their faith is compared to the Historic Christian Faith (HCF).

Orthodox Evangelicals (a new category to the Protestant smorgasbord) as opposed to ‘Christian fundamentalists’ or ‘Progressive Evangelicals’, are those faith people that would adhere to a historic Christian faith (HCF) versus a seeker friendly, belief de jour, Kumbaya type of belief or a ‘Rambo’ Christianity faith which is a coercive, legalistic belief doctrine that is devoid of a relational aspect and pronounces a type of moral superiority based on the acceptance of certain tenets of the Christian faith (with apologies to Sylvester Stallone). Speak the Truth in love, for real.

Historic Christian faith, going back two thousand years would ask the question, "Does this person/candidate understand the nature of the Christian faith, vis-à-vis that the cornerstone of HCF is that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sin in a substitutionary way, resurrected from the dead and a personal belief in the person of Jesus Christ is necessary for eternal salvation? Think Apostles Creed. The legend that Redeem The Vote has concocted will quickly allow the reader to connect with the candidate should they care to do so:
